On Wednesday I went to see Walsall Adult Community College to see if they had and advice on how to pay for college course and ended up walking out after signing up for a free 10 week course in flower arranging :)
its only a leisure course so no qualifications but it gives me hands on experience to get green hands again and I will be taking my little camera with me to get some snaps to share and also to make myself a nice looking portfolio :-D
THEN the lady told me to call back the place I mentioned on Monday about the city and guilds course, because its only level 1 & 2 she said I might be able to get it free as well, so today I called them up and YEP I get that course free too :-D £400 I don't have to find from some where!
and this course gives me a NVQ level 1 & 2 and again a portfolio.
Things are looking up :-)

one step forward 2 steps back
well iv contacted a few places, one has an evening course 1 day a week, just need to find out about getting help to pay for the course.
Iv contacted Wolverhampton college who don't have enough people interested in the course at the minute to be able to run the course :'(
the closest college doing floristry courses is south Stafford college but its difficult to get to by public transport as I don't drive :(
feeling deflated was hoping for a full time course

Hours of searching ...
So today I thought I would start researching what floristry employers want from me, well it turns out they want experience, which I have but a fair few years ago, other than the work iv posted on here, but that's all been done at home.
they want a minimum level 2 in floristry
wedding & funeral experience and also event arrangements experience
and a nice packed portfolio
So with all this noted I started searching for courses ...
OMG there isn't much about locally :(
I could have sworn id seen floristry courses of all levels done at Wolverhampton college only a few months ago, now im looking and finding nothing! iv found an evening course 1 night a week not far from where I live but im guessing its not as valuable as a college course but none the less I will investigate on Monday when they are open.
Other than that I found a perfect course run by south staffs college with city & guilds but its based in Penkridge! I know the area as my father in law lives there but without a car its not the easiest of places to get to! trust me iv tried. Its a whole chain of busses and trains 3 there 3 back :( well over an hour there and again to get home.
So plan of action is to call Walsall college on Monday also, and ask them if they can advise me of anywhere any closer to home.
We shall see ...

not much to show :-(
Well I could kick my self for not taking photographic evidence of the work I did when working at Broadway Flowers all those years ago.!
But I cant change the past so, onto the future.
I have a few albums of the flowers iv done for family and friends and will find a way of getting more chances to work with flowers and get some pics :-) - not sure how yet :-/ hmmm-
My short term plan is to try and get on a college course and get some qualifications under my belt.
My long term plan is to have my own flower shop :-D
here are just a few pics from each wedding iv done in the last few year
